Benton Harbor Area Schools will head into the new academic year with a mask mandate. Superintendent Andrae Townsel told Berrien County ALPACT this week the rule will apply to both students and adults, according to The Herald Palladium. Townsel announced earlier this month there would be a mask rule and spoke more in depth Tuesday. He said he’s gotten no complaints about the policy and he believes it’s what the community favors. He also said there will be a virtual option available for students who wish to pursue that route. St. Joseph Public Schools will also have a virtual option. The St. Joseph Public Schools Board of Education this week approved a mask rule of its own amid a great deal of controversy. South Haven Public Schools also has a mask mandate. Watervliet schools are recommending masks, but not requiring them.
