Would you like to try off-roading? This is the weekend to do it in Michigan State Parks. DNR motorized trails specialist Jessica Holley-Roehrs told Michigan News Network it’s a Free ORV Weekend.

“Our residents and non-residents of the state of Michigan can ride their ORVS, their motorcycles, their side by sides, or their jeeps on our trails, our designated trails, without purchasing an ORV license or trail permit,” Roehrs said.

Roehrs says it would normally cost you $36 for an ORV license and permit. She says there are 4,000 miles of off-road trails and six scramble areas in the state. Scramble areas are areas where you can have free run to use your ORV to do rock climbs or sand obstacles.
