 1896 Henry Ford completed building his first automobile, calling it the Ford Quadricycle. It had a two-cylinder 4 horsepower engine and a top speed of 20 mph. It sold for $200.

1937 Sylvan Goldman, owner of a Humpty Dumpty Grocery store in Oklahoma City, began using his new invention – the shopping cart. It was essentially a folding chair with wheels.

1942 The Battle of Midway began. It would be Japan’s first major defeat of the war.

1984 Bruce Springsteen aka “The Boss” released the album, ‘Born In The USA’, which became the best-selling album of 1985 in the U.S. and also his most successful album ever. The album produced ten singles.
