State Releases Tuesday COVID Numbers

Michigan is reporting 5,259 new cases of COVID-19 for Tuesday. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services says the state has had a total of more than 799,000 COVID cases since the start of the pandemic and 16,986 deaths. There were 85 new deaths reported for Tuesday, 33 of which were identified through a review of vital records. Berrien County was listed with 40 new cases over Monday, now at a total of 12,787 cases since the pandemic began. The county has had 240 deaths, which was actually down one from Monday. Van Buren County on Tuesday reported 42 new cases over Monday for a pandemic total of 6,003. The county has had 95 deaths, up one for the day. Cass County listed 14 new cases for Tuesday, with a total of 4,445 cases and 67 deaths, the same as the day before. The state’s coronavirus vaccine dashboard shows Michigan has passed six million doses administered, now at 6 million and 65,000. Berrien County has administered more than 86,000 doses, Van Buren County has given out more than 43,000, and Cass County has administered more than 20,000.
