A frantic search for a baby left in the woods has ended with the child in the hospital and the mother facing charges. Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard says they got the call about a 37-year-old woman who was distraught and knocking on doors in Orion Township. When the woman mentioned a baby, more than a dozen officers and a tracking dog began a search of nearby woods.
“Thankfully one of the deputies was able to spot the four-month-old baby face-down. He had already gone into early hypothermia,” said Bouchard.
The baby is expected to be okay and is in the custody of Child Protective Services. Police are seeking charges against the mother.
