South Haven Public Schools will hold a meeting this week for residents of the area to learn about a bonding proposal set to appear on their ballots May 4. The district is seeking $34.8 million for what it calls “significant enhancements to health and safety, core infrastructure, educational programming, and energy management.” The project will include ventilation and air purification systems, as well as upgrading classroom doors, boilers, electrical systems, and roofing. It will also mean upgrading instructional technology, sensory spaces at the elementary buildings, and improvements to athletic facilities. Much of the building work would be focused on the elementary and middle school buildings, as the last bonding request focused on the high school. The meeting to learn more will be Thursday at 6 p.m. via Google meetings.
