The news this week of a Whitmer administration separation agreement with former Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Director Robert Gordon didn’t please state Senator Kim LaSata. She spoke on the Senate floor Thursday, saying former officials should be able to speak about their experiences.
“These are officials who might have information about her deadly nursing home policy, or the abject failures of her unemployment agency,” LaSata said.
LaSata read quotes from Whitmer herself when she was in the Michigan Senate, slamming former Governor Rick Snyder for a lack of transparency. On Facebook, LaSata said, “Governor Gretchen Whitmer has used your money to buy the silence of her former employees.”
