
Michigan has 1,067 new COVID-19 cases for Tuesday for a pandemic total of 590,217. The state Department of Health and Human Services says 24 deaths were recorded for the day, with 12 being from vital records reviews. Michigan’s chief medical executive, Dr. Joneigh Khaldun, says things are steady.
“We are now seeing a plateau in our case rates,” says Khaldun. “Cases are now at about 91 cases per million people, slightly lower than where we were the previous week.”
In southwest Michigan, Berrien County has 16 additional cases for a total of 10,685 and 223 deaths, which is unchanged. Van Buren County has 5 new cases for a total of 4,711 and 85 deaths, which is unchanged.
