One of six men facing federal charges for plotting to kidnap Governor Gretchen Whitmer is facing up to life in prison after pleading guilty this morning in federal court in Grand Rapids. Ty Garbin of Hartland has agreed to fully cooperate with federal and state law enforcement in the investigation and prosecution of all criminal activity, including the conspiracy to kidnap the governor. As a result, federal prosecutors will not charge him with any more crimes. He will be sentenced July 8th and remains in federal custody. Garbin is the first conviction in the case.
