The Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety says three people were killed in a fire early on Sunday. Firefighters responded to the scene at 185 Bellview just before 5 a.m. They attempted to gain entry to the duplex, but the heat and flames were too intense. Moments later, the second floor of the building collapsed. Three of the home’s occupants were killed. They are a 30-year-old woman, her 15-year-old son, and her 12-year-old daughter. The father is the lone survivor, and was treated for minor injuries. The names of the victims have not been released, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
