Lakeshore’s Stewart Elementary is closed until Wednesday due to a teacher testing positive for COVID-19. The district says it learned of the test result late Friday and anyone the teacher has been in close contact with is asked to quarantine. That count is over 30 people. District officials say they’re working with the Berrien County Health Department on the next steps, and they are not suggesting remote learning at this time. They plan an update for families at the school tomorrow. Elementary students that live in the Stewart attendance area and attend other elementary schools may still ride the bus from their regular bus stop as routes will be run while Stewart is closed.
