It’s a game changer. That’s what Flint Bishop Airport director Nino Sappone says about a new Smart Helmet they will use at the airport for its police, since it can take people’s temperatures from more than 20 feet away.

“It’s really the next step in our plans to fight the spread of COVID-19,” says Sappone. “We can go to each gate, get everybody in terminal, stream them, and go from there.”

Flint Bishop is the first airport in the country to use the Smart Helmet, which can also be used for facial recognition and license plate recognition. Each helmet comes with a smart watch that has the capability of taking video and photos.
