Bloomingdale Public Schools has announced its plans for a return to school this fall. The district has released the following statement:

Bloomingdale Public Schools Superintendent, Deb Paquette will inform and prepare the Bloomingdale community of the return to school plan (on August 31, 2020) through a virtual platform.

Many staff members have been preparing for the return of the Bloomingdale students. We have sent out parent and staff surveys to gather information as well as used guidance from the health department and State’s MI Safe Schools Roadmap.

Many safety protocols have been put in place and PPE equipment purchased for staff and students.

Bloomingdale Public Schools is offering two approaches to learning this fall: In-person instruction or remote learning.

All K-12 students will be given a chrome book this fall. The district will be utilizing Schoology as the learning management system to provide remote instruction. This method will allow our in-person learners and our remote learners to receive instruction from their classroom teacher(s) in the same format and at the same pace.

Remote learners will have the same learning expectations regarding participation and completion of classroom assignments as the in-person students.

This plan will allow us to move through phases three, four, and five seamlessly.

We want to assure the Bloomingdale families that we will maintain a safe environment and collaboration with the Van Buren and Allegan Health Departments. Bloomingdale Public Schools will do what is best for the Bloomingdale students, parents, and community.
