Former Michigan State University gymnastics coach Kathy Klages will serve 18 months probation with the first 90 days in the Ingham County Jail for lying to authorities investigating Larry Nassar on MSU’s campus. She was convicted in February on two counts of lying to a peace officer with one being a felony and the other a high court misdemeanor. In addition to her time in the jail, Klages will be on a tether for 90 days after that. Attorney General Dana Nessel says the evidence points to “the fact that Ms. Klages was aware for decades of Larry Nassar’s actions.” Her conviction establishes that MSU was aware of Nassar’s sexual assaults in 1997 and did nothing until 2016.
