Lots Of Retailers Losing Hope Around Michigan

The Michigan Retailers Association does not know how many businesses have been forced to shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic, but as spokesperson Meagan Holland says, there’s not much optimism.

“We just heard the number that one in seven small businesses worry they won’t make it,” Holland tells the Michigan News Network. “I worry the longer this goes on, that number is actually low. So, we’ll know in the next few months, but I don’t think it’s going to be pretty.

Nationally, retail sales in the U.S. fell a record 16% between March and April.
