The St. Joseph City Commission is expected to approve holding a joint meeting later this month with the Benton Harbor City Commission and St. Joseph Charter Township Board tonight. The three are set to discuss establishing a group to work on recommendations for the development of the St. Joseph Harbor. Benton Harbor and St. Joseph Township each approved the concept last week. The joint meeting of the three is likely to be held on Wednesday, January 22. The efforts have been ongoing for a few years, spurred by an Andrews University and Southwest Michigan Planning Commission Twin Cities Harbor Study sponsored by the city of Benton Harbor in 2015.
