Two Niles residents are facing charges resulting from a standoff last week in Cass County’s Milton Township. Officers from the Fugitive Apprehension Street Team and US Marshal’s Service Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force went to their home on Redfield Street last Wednesday afternoon looking for 41-year-old Adam Neiman and retreated once Neiman pulled a gun. He was finally arrested after a standoff that lasted over 12 hours when he and 41-year-old Clemie Chapman came out of the home more than five hours after police were able to get a child out of the house.

Neiman is facing multiple charges including kidnapping, 2nd and 4th degree child abuse, unlawful imprisonment, and resisting and obstructing. Chapman is charged with resisting and obstructing. He’s held without bond in the Cass County Jail, while bond for Chapman was set at $5,000. The two were arraigned on Friday.
