There’s a common message from law enforcement all over southwest Michigan to people: lock the doors of your vehicle. The latest comes from Bloomingdale, as the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department says five vehicles were broken into overnight between Saturday and Sunday. There’s no specific location in the village that was targeted other than “in and around” according to deputies. Investigators have also not released details about what was taken from the vehicles, but do say that in every case, the doors had not been locked. The issue has popped up all over Berrien County in recent months as well, even leading to some cars being stolen because the keys were inside.
