A 53-year-old Buchanan man is expected to face multiple charges upon his release from Memorial Hospital in South Bend for a crash that killed four people Friday. The Berrien County Sheriff’s Department has identified him as Dub Collins, who is in stable condition and is being held on a Michigan Department of Corrections Parole Detainer.

Authorities allege Collins was under the influence of alcohol when he blew through a stop sign at Miller and Main around noon Friday, slamming into another vehicle and killing four members of a family. Also hospitalized in stable condition in South Bend is his passenger, 39-year-old Heather Collins, also of Buchanan. The police report is being finalized and will be sent to the Berrien County Prosecutor’s Office for charges against Collins.
