Registrations are now being taken for Skywarn training in Berrien County. The Berrien County Office of Emergency Management says Skywarn is a program that teaches anyone how to spot signs of severe weather. The volunteers then become spotters for the National Weather Service to warn communities about impending dangers. In Berrien County, Skywarn training is offered through a partnership with the National Weather Service Northern Indiana Office. Right now, there are more than 330 active spotters registered in Berrien County alone. The next Skywarn training event will be this Wednesday in Berrien Springs. It runs from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. You can register for it right here.
