NFL – Carson Wentz sits out practice second day in a row
There’s a good chance the Philadelphia Eagles will use Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles as their starting quarterback Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams. Starter Carson Wentz sat out practice on Thursday because of a back injury. Two people familiar with the quarterback’s injury confirmed reports that Wentz has a fractured vertebra, but the team is awaiting further evaluation before making a definitive determination on his status. Foles led Philadelphia to its first NFL title since 1960 and started the first two games this season, going 1-1. He hasn’t taken a snap in a game since We ek 2.

NFL – Packers fan loses bid to wear team colors at Soldier Field
A Green Bay Packers fan has lost a court battle to wear green and gold on the sidelines of Soldier Field, home of the rival Chicago Bears.  The Chicago Tribune reports a federal judge on Thursday denied a request by Russell Beckman for a temporary restraining order and injunction so he could wear Packers’ attire on the sidelines during pregame warmups before the lawsuit he filed last year is decided. Beckman has Bears season tickets. A team rewards program lets season ticket holders stand on the sideline during pregame warmups. The Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, resident argues the Bears’ rule prohibiting fans from wearing opposing team gear on the sidelines violates his rights to free speech. The Bears face the Packers on Sunday at Soldier Field.

NBA – Warriors’ Curry says he was joking about moon landing
Warriors star Stephen Curry didn’t mean it.  Curry told ESPN this week he was joking when he questioned on a podcast whether astronauts landed on the moon, comments that sent social media into a tizzy.  He also said he will accept NASA’s invitation to tour the lunar lab at the Johnson Space Center in Houston.  “Obviously I was joking when I was talking on the podcast,” Curry told ESPN.  “(Then) I was silently protesting how stupid it was that people actually took that quote and made it law as, `Oh my God, he’s a fake-moon-landing truther,’ whatever you want to call it, yada, yada, yada. So I was silently protesting that part about it, how the story took a life of its own. “But in terms of the reaction that I’ve gotten, I am definitely going to take (NASA) up on their offer.”
