The Pokagon Fund has re-affirmed its commitment to the Pokagon Fund Vision Program. Director Janet Cocciarelli tells WSJM News the program until this October was administered by the New Buffalo Lions Club with the Pokagon Fund paying.

“We have been in partnership for about ten years, and through the Lions Club, the Pokagon Fund has given out just under a half of a million dollars for the purchase of glasses for both seniors and children as well as eye exams,” Cochiarelli said.

The Lions Club is no longer administering the Pokagon Fund Vision Program, and Cocciarelli says the Pokagon Fund itself is now taking over…at least for now. She says anyone who’s already in the program’s system is still there and will notice no difference. Applications for free exams and glasses will now be made through the Pokagon Fund, but Cocciarelli says the process should be seamless. Details will be distributed in November.
