The Senate’s confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh to the U.S. Supreme Court this weekend will probably energize both political parties for next month’s elections. So thinks Congressman Fred Upton, who tells WSJM News the Kavanaugh controversy will have political implications.

“At the end of the day, yeah, I think it’s going to be a factor for both sides, not only a rallying cry for Republicans, but something that the Democrats have certainly been engaged on in a pretty big way over the last couple of weeks as well,” Upton said. “It cuts both ways.”

Upton had no say in the Kavanaugh issue since he’s in the House and not the Senate. Still, he tells us the who situation was painful for all parties. He supported the FBI investigation into sexual assault allegations against Judge Kavanaugh.
