Van Buren Coffee Company in Paw Paw is helping a 12-year-old Kalamazoo area boy, Samuel VerHage, raise money to buy blankets for the homeless. Josh Gettig is co-owner of the company and they’ve come up with a special blend, Blanket Blend, with some of the proceeds, going to the cause.

“He has given away 3,000 blankets,” says Gettig. “It all started with him seeing some homeless folks and saying ‘I bet they’re cold; I bet they need a blanket.’ He has such a giving heart.”

Gettig says they helped VerHage create “Blanket Blend” of coffee, which they’re selling for $12 a bag, but $4 of that goes to support Samuel’s Blankets for the homeless, which are distributed after Thanksgiving. You can buy it at vanburencoffee.com.
