Red Arrow Highway between Glenlord and Hilltop roads will be dedicated for Michigan State Police Trooper Robert Mihalik this weekend. The state Legislature approved the honorary designation for Mihalik earlier this year, and the ceremony will be held on the 34th anniversary of his death in the line of duty. Trooper Mihalik was a Lakeshore High School graduate assigned to the old St. Joseph MSP Post. He was shot and killed September 9, 1984 trying to arrest a man who had left a gas station without paying for the fuel. That man was sentenced to life in prison in July 1985. The dedication ceremony will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Eagles Technologies at 3545 Lakeshore Drive in St. Joseph. Lakeshore Drive is also Red Arrow Highway.
