Set to visit the Marie Yeager Cancer Center and Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph next week is a pink fire truck that’s touring the country as part of the Pink Heals Tour. Lakeland tells us the tour started on August 8 featuring more than 200 pink vehicles. The goal is to raise awareness and community support for local oncology services and also to provide encouragement to those fighting cancer. Cancer patients and survivors are welcome to stop by and sign the pink firetruck, which Lakeland says will carry their name forever. Firefighters from Bridgman and Royalton Township will be on hand. The visit will be next Monday from 1 to 2:45 p.m. at the Marie Yeager Cancer Center, and then from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m. at Lakeland Medical Center.
