Benton Harbor Woman Who Sparked AMBER Alert Charged

The 19-year-old woman accused of kidnapping a toddler from his Grand Rapids home last week is now facing charges of kidnapping involving child enticement. Iyesha Gibbs was in court today in Grand Rapids for her arraignment, and bond has been set at $50,000. One-year-old Miquis Jenkins was found Thursday afternoon at a home on Pavone in Benton Harbor following the issuing of an AMBER Alert by police. Gibbs was arrested later in the day in Benton Harbor, where she recently moved from the Grand Rapids area. Neighbors say Gibbs dropped off the little boy at her apartment, and he was found safe just before 3 p.m. Jenkins has since been reunited with his family, and Gibbs is due back in a Grand Rapids courtroom on August 21. She faces up to life in prison if convicted.
