Cass County Treasurer Linda Pruett has died. Pruett passed away Sunday evening following an illness, and Berrien County Treasurer Bret Witkowski talked to WSJM News about her time in office.
“Linda put Cass first, I’ll tell you that,” said Witkowski. “Anyone who knew her knew she was passionate about doing what was best for Cass County.
She was elected Cass County Treasurer in 2002. Cass County Administrator Karen Folks echoed Witkowski’s statement.
“We just are sending our deepest sympathy to Linda’s grieving family, her many friends, her staff, and her employees who knew and loved her,” said Folks.
The Cass County clerk, chief probate judge, and prosecutor will work together by law to find Pruett’s successor, much the same as in Berrien County in the search to replace Lori Jarvis as Register of Deeds following her death earlier this year.
