The South Haven City Council is working on amendments to the city’s ordinance governing short-term rentals. Assistant City Manager Kate Hosier gave an overview of the possible changes.

“Inclusion of increased rental fees for renewals and then re-registrations and first-time applications,” Hosier said. “They also introduced that attached condos would fall under the short-term rental registration.”

The city council vote was to explore the issues further, not to approve any changes. Around a half-dozen people spoke on both sides of the issue. The next time it is scheduled to come up will be the July 2nd meeting.
