Among those gathered at the Mackinac Policy Conference this week is state Senator John Proos. He told WSJM News just before leaving that he’d be on the island from Wednesday through Friday morning, not just meeting with other lawmakers.
“Business and industry discussions about job skills, and the job skills gap,” Proos said. “The discussion of what the ;legislature is doing to pass the governor’s recommendations for the Marshall Plan, and some additional conversations regarding energy, energy production, and energy distribution enhancements to ensure we’ve got reliability on all of our lines.”
Proos notes the Mackinac Policy Conference is a bi-partisan event and the premiere chamber event in the state. It runs through Friday.
