Kalamazoo Authorities ID Flood Victim

The Kalamazoo Public Safety Department has released the name of the man whose body was found by a kayaker in the floodwater near a business along Riverview Drive on Sunday. Captain Shannon Bagley says 48-year old James Jackson’s family has been notified of his passing. The investigation continues. They say that his car was found submerged not far from where his body was found in the deep water under the rail viaduct and the intersection of East Michigan and Riverview. An autopsy was conducted. They are now waiting for toxicology tests which could take a month or more.
