Whirlpool has been hit with layoffs this week. The company hasn’t released exact numbers, but a spokesperson says the cuts are due to an effort to reduce costs this year by $150 million. In a statement to Moody on the Market, the representative said the cuts were coming in multiple forms in ways that “touch all of our regions.” He also said when jobs were involved, all employees were being treated “fairly and with respect throughout the process.” Whirlpool notes it still has around 4,000 employees in the Benton Harbor-St. Joseph areas.
