Police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide in Van Buren County. The Covert Township Police Department tells us the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department and Pokagon Tribal Police were sent to a home in the 72000 block of County Road 376 last Thursday afternoon on a report of a possible suicidal person with a gun. Arriving officers found 60-year-old Edward Gorenz and 60-year-old Terese Gorenz with gunshot wounds. Based on evidence found at the scene, investigators were able to determine Edward Gorenz shot Terese Gorenz and then turned the gun on himself. Investigators are still looking in to a possible motive.
