The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Berrien and Cass counties that is to remain in effect through Friday night. Below is the weather service statement.
“WHAT…Heavy lake effect snow occurring. Travel will be very difficult to impossible, including during the morning and evening commutes on Thursday. Additional snow accumulations of
12 to 16 inches, with localized amounts up to 20 inches, are expected.
* WHERE…Berrien and Cass MI Counties.
* WHEN…Until 7 PM EST Friday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Be prepared for significant reductions in visibility at times.
A Winter Storm Warning for heavy lake effect snow means significant amounts of lake effect snow are forecast that will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.”
