We will be under a winter storm warning starting at 1 a.m. Saturday through midnight on Sunday morning, with anywhere from 5 to 10 inches possible. WNDU NewsCenter 16 meteorologist Cindy Clawson says the lake effect snow will start after a clipper system moves through tonight.

“The lake effect starts tomorrow morning, and it looks like it will move into a single band, that’s what our model has been consistently showing,” Clawson tells us. “You know that can dump a lot of snow in smaller areas, but it’s going to be one of those where if you’re in the right spot, you’re going to get a lot of snow. But the amounts will vary quite a bit.”

We had our first driving challenges of the winter season on Thursday, and this will be the first real big expected snowfall.
