Some people are already buying live Christmas trees for the Holidays. So which trees last the longest without dropping all their needles? Michigan News Network asked Rick Vespa with English Gardens

“First of all, the Douglas fir is popular, and the Fraser fir is probably the most popular right now. The branching and the needle structure of the Fraser fir seem to make it the desirable one.”

Vespa says once you buy the tree, it needs a fresh cut. He recommends about two inches above its original cut.
