You can add Congressman Fred Upton to the list of those calling for Roy Moore to drop out of the U.S. Senate race in Alabama. Moore has two women accusing him of sexual misconduct when they were underage, one 14 and one 16. Congressman Upton tells WSJM News the situation is clear to him.
“I’m of the belief that the women are telling the truth, and he should not be elected to serve in the U.S. Senate,” Upton said.
We asked if the Senate should refuse to seat Moore if he wins, but Upton’s not worried about that.
“There’s just no way that he can win, or frankly, should win,” Upton said.
Upton says Moore needs to stand down. As for what will happen after that, Upton says a write-in candidacy could be mounted, or the election could even be rescheduled.
