Saturday’s Powerball jackpot is up to $535 million. Michigan Lottery spokesperson Jeff Holyfield tells WSJM News it’s the fifth largest Powerball jackpot ever. He notes the winners of big time jackpots like Saturday’s are often simply flabbergasted.
“What we hear from big time lottery winners is they’re stunned,” Holyfield said. “They’re not quite sure what they’re going to do going forward. As you can imagine with that kind of money, you’ve gone beyond the new house, new car, and a nice vacation and into, ‘What private island should I buy and which jet should I use to fly there?’”
The lump sum payment for Saturday’s jackpot will be $340 million. Tickets are $2, and your odds of winning the jackpot are one in 292 million. Good luck.
