Michigan Congressman Dan Kildee is speaking-out against the latest executive order by President Donald Trump. The revised travel ban issued on Monday temporarily halts entry to the U.S. for people from six Muslim-majority nations who are seeking new visas. Kildee told Michigan New Network he’s opposed to it.
“We are a nation of immigrants,” Kildee said. “We are a welcoming society. We believe in religious freedom and diversity of thought. To actually craft policy that is based on a religious test is inconsistent with American principles.”
The Flint Township Democrat says a heavy reliance to thwart the order will again be on the courts. Last month, a court blocked the first version of the travel ban.
