If you’re heading to Kalamazoo in the next few months, you may want to give yourself a little extra time to get around. Michigan Department of Transportation spokesperson Nick Schirripa told WKZO News they’re gearing up for a $2.3 million improvement project on West Main starting in April. That work will go all the way from US-131 to the downtown area.

“It’ll be a moving lane closure situation,” Schirripa said. “So, you can plan on maybe a five minute delay, overall, if you’re in that artery of construction.”

Work is also planned on Kalamazoo Avenue. The project will require closures and detours, so be ready for traffic shifts if you head to Kalamazoo. It should be done by November.
