Benton Harbor Area Schools is receiving a $2 million grant from the Michigan Department of Education for safety and gang prevention, and district leaders want to hear from the public on how it should be used. The district has outlined some plans, and it’s also inviting everyone out to a gathering for dialogue next Thursday. It’ll be at the district administrative center on Pipestone from 2 to 5 p.m. Based on the feedback the district gets, a prioritized plan for safety and gang prevention will be created.
