About 60% of Michiganders are planning to hit the road this fall, as September and October become more popular months to travel. AAA of Michigan’s Susan Hiltz tells WSJM News there are several reasons why.
“The weather’s cooler, tourist attractions tend to be less crowded, and the kids are back in school so travelers can often find a greater deal on hotels, flights, and cruises,” Hiltz said. “Definitely some big pluses for that off-peak season for travelling.”
Hiltz adds cheaper gas is making road trips more attractive. She notes 40% of survey respondents say they’d rather travel during the off-season.
