Planned for this weekend in Lawrence is the 32nd annual Ox Roast and Homecoming Festival. The celebration takes place all over town all weekend, says Paul Garrod, the festival president. He tells WSJM News Saturday kicks off with a run and walk, a truck show, and then a lighted truck parade at 8:30 p.m.

“Semi trucks will be going through downtown Lawrence with all of their lights on, and that should be a pretty good event,” Garrod said. We’re looking forward to that.”

The weekend will feature music in the park, book sales, and bingo. The big parade is Monday, Labor Day.

“The parade starts at 11 o’clock, and we’ll be handing out the free ox roast sandwiches starting at 1:30,” Garrod said.

The Ox Roast is named for the beef sandwiches they hand out for free. You can find a schedule for the festival at LawrenceMI.org.
