Legislation is being drawn up to help increase transparency when it comes to Michigan day care centers. State Representative Peter Lucido, of Macomb County, is behind it.
“The Daycare Act is an open, transparent representation of what it is that you see when you look into daycare,” Lucido said. “It’ll give you whether or not there were any important health or safety violations of a daycare center.”
Lucido says parents who drop their kids off at day care centers should be able to access more information on them. The legislation being drafted this summer would allow better access to history of centers across the state.
