The annual Mackinac Bridge Walk will be next Monday, and once again, the Michigan Department of Transportation is holding a bridge photo contest. For the next two weeks, everyone’s invited to post a photo to any of MDOT’s social media accounts. Spokesperson Jeff Cranson says the winner will get to take a free tour.

“If you’d like, you can get a trip top the top of the bridge,” Cranson told WSJM News. “You can ride the elevator in the tower up to the top, and if you don’t have a terrible fear of heights and have an adventurous spirit, you can see some pretty spectacular views.”

The bridge walk on Monday is expected to attract around 30,000 people, including Governor Rick Snyder. The peak was in 2007 when 60,000 people walked to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the bridge opening. You can find MDOT’s Facebook page here.
