Its season may be finished, but the South Haven Theatre Series has announced two bonus shows to be held in October as a special community service after strong support this year.
The series says it will present two special, limited-seat performances of Every Brilliant Thing, written by Duncan Macmillan with Jonny Donahoe, on Friday, October 23 and Sunday, October 25.
The series says the special interactive performances of Every Brilliant Thing are being produced in arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Dramatist Play Service. The play is sponsored by Corewell Health Lakeland Hospitals with support from Lorys Place and VBC Mental Health.
Every Brilliant Thing touches on themes of mental illness and loss as it centers around a 7-year-old’s search to understand his mother’s suicide attempt.
The performances will be held at the Van Buren County Senior Center auditorium in South Haven, and tickets are available online only. The South Haven Theatre Series says all profits from ticket sales will be donated to Lory’s Place and VBC Mental Health.
