Adam Frazier dashed home on Mason Englert’s wild pitch in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the Baltimore Orioles their sixth straight victory, 2-1 over the Detroit Tigers. The Orioles won for the 10th time in 12 games, this time on a day when Detroit’s Eduardo Rodriguez retired the first 20 Baltimore hitters. The Tigers left 13 men on base, including three in the 10th after Orioles manager Brandon Hyde issued two intentional walks. Those allowed left-hander Keegan Akin (1-1) to face lefty hitters, and end the threat, and Englert was unable to do the same in the bottom half. Frazier pinch-ran as the automatic runner and moved to third on a sacrifice bunt. He scored when Englert’s first pitch to Jorge Mateo skipped away.
Rays 4, White Sox 1 – Rays get 13th consecutive home win, beat White Sox 4-1
Zach Eflin pitched five effective innings in his return from injury and the Tampa Bay Rays hit two more home runs, beating the slumping Chicago White Sox 4-1 for their 13th consecutive home win to begin the season. Tampa Bay improved to 19-3 overall and tied the 2009 Los Angeles Dodgers for the second-longest home winning streak to start a season since 1901. The 1907 New York Giants opened with 15 straight wins at home. Luke Raley and Harold Ramirez went deep for the Rays, who have homered in each of their first 22 games — extending their major league record. Eflin allowed one run and three hits in a game that took only 2 hours, 2 minutes. Peter Fairbanks got his third save.
Dodgers 7, Cubs 3 – Mookie Betts homers, drives in 4 as Dodgers beat Cubs 7-3
Mookie Betts homered and drove in four runs in his first career start at shortstop, and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Chicago Cubs 7-3. Max Muncy and J.D. Martinez also connected as Los Angeles took three of four in the series at Wrigley Field. Clayton Kershaw pitched six innings of three-hit ball in career win No. 201. Betts, a six-time Gold Glove winner in right field who made his big league debut in 2014, hit a tying two-run shot off Marcus Stroman in the third inning. He also lined a two-run double to left in the ninth.

NCAAFB – Clock will no longer stop on first downs
The NCAA Playing Rules Oversight Panel has approved rules changes that are expected to reduce the number of plays in football games. The most notable is one that will keep the clock running when a team makes a first down except in the last two minutes of a half. The new clock rule affects only Divisions I and II. Penalties accepted at the end of the first and third quarters will now be enforced at the start of the following quarter and back-to-back timeouts during the same dead-ball period are no longer allowed.
NASCAR – Busch wins under caution at Talladega in double overtime
Kyle Busch won his second race of the season since joining Richard Childress Racing when he snatched the victory in double overtime at Talladega Superspeedway. It was the second win for Busch at Talladega, 15 years apart. He won when Bubba Wallace was spun by Ryan Blaney as Wallace tried to block Blaney. It triggered a race-ending caution that gave RCR its 13th victory at NASCAR’s biggest track. Blaney finished second to lead a parade of Ford drivers to second through fifth-place finishes.
