The Kent County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a three-year-old boy who was found near his apartment home south of Grand Rapids on Sunday. Sergeant Eric Brunner says the boy drowned in a pond near his home.
“The concerning part was, when children go missing especially in a multi-housing complex like this, there are a lot of eyes, a lot of people see stuff. We didn’t have any follow-up 911 calls of kids being missing.”
He was reported missing by his parents around 2:20 p.m., and was found in the pond around 5 p.m. The boy was about 30 or 40 yards from home.
