A former Lakeshore Public Schools teacher has been charged with sexual assault. The Berrien County Prosecutor’s office tells us 66-year-old Perry Heppler is charged with one count of first degree criminal sexual conduct and three counts of second degree criminal sexual conduct. The former second grade teacher resigned when the accusations were made. He’s due in court for a preliminary exam on March 8. Lakeshore Public Schools has said the allegations do not appear to involve the school district.
