The Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety is investigating after a body was found in a vehicle on Sunday. It says officers were on patrol in the area of 384 Marshall Street when they heard a woman screaming. They found 27-year-old Denell Newson dead in a vehicle. The screams they’d heard were from a family member who found Newson. A dark Dodge Charger was also seen speeding away from the scene. Police have not identified any suspects. An autopsy is planned for Monday in Kalamazoo to determine Newson’s cause of death. Anyone with information on the death is asked to contact the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety.
